You get this sense of growth whenever you're doing something new
The kids just run all over you want to test the waters

When I was in school we had about 1100 kids

Just something that I carry to this day is the importance of understanding
There are different types of children who learn differently
His disability and his inability to function within a general ed setting
The kids who are getting screwed are your special ed kids
I did not listen to him he let me go without explanation
The last student with a special need spent the whole year in my classroom
They realized after COVID that none of the third-graders could read
I don’t know how that stuff is going to move with me
The classrooms are tight
We basically have a classroom of 22 kids on an IEP
The low expectation that they have for children of color
She could not spell her name S-O-L-O
It really is gaslighting because they make you feel so shitty
People are fleeing
Oh that child will not make it just because what the child is at the moment
The classrooms are so small especially in these buildings from 1919
BPS has this idea that teachers are expendable
I was a horrible teacher in my first three years of teaching
I can see a building with all types of learners in it
You have to be realistic with kids with special needs
We have sixth graders now who literally cannot read like CVC words like cat
I feel like BPS takes advantage of the communities and the parents
I'm so committed to teaching black and brown children
You can't forget about the rest of us
Lets not forget about those kids with special needs
I think the families are fantastic
Too many chiefs and not enough Indians
Changing what someone is already doing that's working just for the sake
There weren't enough people concerned about the students
Their interest wasn't necessarily aligned with the kids
I was just trying to figure out what I was going to do
I've seen change that sometimes had the goal of making things better
I felt very supported in that instance
He listened and we didn't departmentalize
Specific colleagues a group of women mostly people of color supported me
I just did not feel that I had the support I needed
I've been able to find my tribe and outside help
Not every kid is meant to go to college
As a black woman I've always believed in doing that
The lack of accountability for kids actions does not prepare students
It's got to be developing the whole student for the real world
Just wait it'll be gone in two years
It feels like there's a push for conformity
Everybody should be reading the same books
I will be simultaneously taking a class that is telling me
That kid shouldn't be back the next day
There are no consequences for cutting classes
You'll either be in jail the cemetery
the latest technology would have an inclusion model
Every school should have that accessibility for every student’s talent
I want to see more Black and brown educators
Connect parents with more engage the school more
There's huge inequity among schools for both students and for adults
I know my future is set because of the resources that the exam schools have
I feel like an outsider they feel like aliens there
There's a hunger there's a need for something that's outside the academics
I'm not crazy for thinking the things that I think
I feel alone a lot and I want to de-stress all the time
