In 2024, dozens of local community organizations from across Boston applied to join the realtalk@Boston cohort, — a group of local leaders committed to listening deeply within their neighborhoods. Together, they co-designed a conversation guide, hosted small-group dialogues, and learned how to interpret what emerged from those conversations.
11 experienced community organizers were ultimately selected to work together in a cohort. Over the course of a year, they supported one another as they explored how AI tools could enhance their listening and sensemaking work, while also reflecting on when it’s most important to listen and interpret stories guided by community wisdom.
