About
Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts (FNC) partners with families and organizations to create nurturing environments where both caregivers and children can thrive. When families receive support through our programs, they strengthen their understanding of child development, build stronger relationships with their children and their neighbors, and grow into the parent they want to be.
Through parenting education, early child development programs, coalition and community building, and training and capacity building, Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts (FNC) partners with families and organizations to create nurturing environments where children can thrive.
Our work is rooted in a deep understanding that parenting is learned and can radically shape a child’s future. Our team engages over 5,000 children and caregivers in Boston and trains more than 1,000 providers across the Commonwealth each year.

Maridena Rojas
Community Engagement Manager
Maridena is a community organizer and advocate working alongside communities of color. Having 15+ of experience managing projects, initiatives, bringing resources into the community for residents of Boston who have often been underserved. She has been recognized by former City Council Andrea Campbell Boston’s City Council and Senator Nick Collins for the The Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus.

Participants in the Family Nurturing Center's conversations shared varied experiences of community, safety, and personal growth. Community safety and violence were pressing concerns, with participants like Baxter and Bianca discussing the impact of gang violence and inadequate systemic responses. Despite these challenges, there were calls for more effective communication and involvement between law enforcement and communities. Participants also expressed a desire for more supportive and resource-rich environments for youth, advocating for engaging programs that foster skill development and interest exploration.
