Fueled by a passion for social justice and a belief in the transformative power of media arts, The Loop Lab, started in 2017 with a clear mission: empowering opportunity youth towards careers in media arts through job training and paid fellowships.
We operate as a non-profit social enterprise specializing in digital storytelling and workforce development. Our team works together to achieve three possible outcomes for our students: Education, Employment, and Entrepreneurship.

The Loop Lab
The Loop Lab gathered participants—ranging from lifelong locals and recent arrivals to first-generation Americans—who spoke about the draw of opportunities, complex family journeys, and the ways Boston is shaped by both community support and systemic barriers. Many found deep belonging within creative spaces like the Loop Lab itself but highlighted broader struggles: soaring housing costs, gentrification, inaccessible or unreliable public transit, mental health system gaps, and persistent racial inequities. The realities of displacement, being policed for one’s identity, and feeling disconnected from authentic community emerged alongside visions for a more inclusive, supportive, and vibrant Boston—one where resources are accessible, voices continue to be heard, and mutual aid and neighborhood unity are rebuilt. A common thread was the urgent call not just for ongoing conversation, but for collective action and truly inclusive policy change to create the Boston everyone deserves.
