Tagged Highlights It feels cool to have a job that is focused on gaining skills Art and movement was the way that we were escaping it in the streets Making people feel uncomfortable with not knowing everything A cute little gift store bottle shop in our neighborhood was robbed It's an ongoing process and you just have to not lose hope It doesn't change the love that I have for my city They flee'd domestic violence then from there they ended up coming to Chelsea I love the green area here Boston was the most appealing one of their transit system We found a community it was in Guatemala you only get to see Guatemalans I think I am so inspired every day by the youth movements I just love the diversity of our city I was diagnosed with a brain injury through the MGH when I was 40 It was a really big deal for me to have art in the MFA Culture and diversity is number one key It feels like people can be more than just their job A very rewarding experience playing straight ahead jazz during the pandemic Everybody in the neighborhood all different types of people were like Can we have these conversations literally every week almost every day I feel there's not a single space where we can gather The rooted feeling of being a Bostonian or being from here I found that the opportunities work wise was vastly different My spirit does not belong here because of all the racial BS My daughters their generation is changing shit so beautiful I've seen in my own family how they were treated when they first moved I just really want to see more of us take to this I live in a really cool neighborhood now that feels like maybe a little bit better of a fit for me I've been living in the same house all of my life I was stranded at the T and there's no good way to go home I felt really supported from my community in that where my dance instructor I think that we just need to pour into our city a little bit more A wonderful display of pride for the city and its communities We are so blessed with the richness of the culture and the buildings Everyone comes from around the globe The woman helped us and put us through many things It really grew on me and yeah it's been good A group of people of color is not as diverse I sat in a couple listening sessions for a piece of legislation I just feel free and my wife takes me around I would play ukulele on the side of the road in Central Square there's a level of winning that Boston comes with I love the hood because in a suburban area you can't walk We are metalheads we are punks we are rockers We have a wealth of opportunities here if you reach out To have that shared excitement I guess for winning teams St Patrick's Day parade every year but then we also have a race He likes me enough to make me something I saw you one time at basketball practice give your shoes to a kid I love the north end you can walk around the streets I just appreciated the kindness and the support that was provided to me So I feel like this conversation served as providing me the space to think The resources Boston provide is reassuring and it makes me feel safe I feed off of them my father wasn't in my life
